 Lexile Measure: 225L

 Synopsis: A book on the importance of recycling, reducing, and reusing. The narrator shares how and why one should take care of the earth.

 Rationale for Classroom Use: The Earth Book is a great way to introduce environmentally friendly tactics to children and to explain why conservation is necessary. It can also be used as an interdisciplinary activity with Science.

Common Core Connection:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.1.7 Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events.
