Teaching Children's Literature

“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” ~C.S. Lewis

creepy creatures termites

creepy creatures termites by: Valerie Bodden, creative education 2013

Reading Level: IG880L

Synopsis: This book is all about termites.  It tells about the life of a termite, what they eat, where they live, who are their predators and the book concludes with an activity.

Rationale For Use: I would use this book as part of the science unit on animals.  It has great pictures and it is easy to understand.

Common Core Connection: I would use this book for asking about key details in the text and making sure they understood about insects.
